Vicki Gaia had always been a 'nerd' (before the term was created) and has worn glasses since the age ten. A computer geek, she reads graphic novels (favorites right now are Birds of Prey, Batman and Nightwing), watches Japanese anime, and plays on her PS2 when she needs a break from the world. Yet, even with all this technology, her favorite pastime is reading a good book. She's from a family of avid readers, and devours all genres of literature and non-fiction

History is Vicki's passion. When she discovers an interesting tidbit or strange event about the past, a story begins to form in her mind. When she starts a novel, she frequents her local library, the Internet, and searches for old maps and diaries to give her insight into the attitudes of the generation she's writing about. "It's a constant adventure to delve into the past and discover how some things remain the same, like human emotions of the heart."
Since Vicki's formative years came on the cusp of the late Sixties, this period influenced her way of perceiving life, politics, and social issues. Her female characters are free-spirited, fiercely independent, and edgy. Usually, it's her male characters in need of fixing. "I love writing about relationships and how two people find a way to make it work regardless of their backgrounds. I've always been a sucker for romantic movies, and happy endings, and there's no better genre to write than romance."
