Hi:
I'm Julie Lence, author of Luck of the Draw, a western historical e-book from Asylett Press. I've been an avid reader of romance for 20 years and have been writing for 15 years. Luck of the Draw is my first published work, but not my first written.

I've always been attracted to the western part of the United States. I grew up watching John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart, wishing I lived on a ranch with lots of horses. Now, I do live in the west but not on a ranch.

The 1800's is a time period I've always been fascinated with. The people, the way of life and the clothes are all reasons I set Luck of the Draw in that time frame, plus I love cowboys and everything they encompass.

Luck of the Draw centers around Royce Weston, a wealthy rancher in Colorado territory. Three women he loved betrayed him, leading him to believe all women are liars and unworthy of his trust, including Paige Morgan, the card-cheating beauty at his doorstep claiming to have amnesia. Having a woman around the ranch will not do. Royce tries every method he knows to get rid of her, until a small accident forces him to open his eyes to a truth that's been staring him in the face. Then, all bets are off and Royce plunges ahead to win the woman of dreams and keep her beside him for the rest of his life.

Currently, I am a member of RWA and Pikes Peak Romance Writers, my local writing chapter. For the past few years, I have served on PPRW's board, and won the PPRW Volunteer of the Year award in 2005.

I am a stay-at-home mom working on my next novel and enjoy receiving mail from other romance writers and readers. If you have the time, send an email to: unwound@falconbroadband.net and introduce yourself. Until then, may a bit of luck always be with you.
