Attending college for the last four years has left Adrienne Backett needing a vacation. Strong-willed and independent she has worked hard for what she has obtained and isn't about to give that up easily. Adrienne's vacation from school didn't start out as she would have liked. She finds herself being taken into another dimension by a man that claims she is to be his future queen. So otherwise her vacation has started on a bad note. She isn't about to let this man make her do something that she doesn't want. Will against will, Adrienne and Malik each try to gain more ground with their endeavors. While Adrienne struggles against her feelings and the effect Malik has on her senses, odd magickal happenings occur all around her. Will she ever be able to return home where she wants to be, or will Malik win her over?

Malik, King of Ulan, crosses dimensions to retrieve his queen. A spell reveals to Malik the location of his intended. Having to find his rightful queen before his next birthday, or forfeit his throne proves to be more than he expected. A woman with a will as strong as his, unheard of. Malik will do anything to win over Adrienne, to prove to her that she is his queen. Smooth talking and devastatingly handsome Malik has to fight his urges to claim his intended and make her his. He realizes that to win over Adrienne he will need to have patience. Patience is something that Malik is not known for. Lust is a much more familiar emotion to Malik.

The kingdom of Ulan is not all that Adrienne has to fear. Malik sets out to convince Adrienne that she is meant to be his queen, He tries all kinds of persuasion on Adrienne. Seduction is not the best avenue as he discovers that his lust is going to cause him to scare her more. Bringing Adrienne to Ulan presents the danger of a plot that will bring Malik and his kingdom to their knees. The question Adrienne asks herself is if she is more afraid of this plot, or the way the king could take her heart?

The thought of someone crossing dimensions to claim you as their own holds the promise of suspense, trouble and the unknown. D. Renee Bagby delivers a wonderfully written fantasy that takes you to new realms. Wonderful characters take you to new heights of fantasy, not to mention passion.
